General Characteristics: The wood of E. grandis is lightweight and easy to be worked. Used extensively in Australia and the South African republic as a timber, when coming from long-cycle crops. The wood produced in short cycles is used for boxes. Usually the wood which comes from trees with rapid growth presents problems of warping, and cracking when the contractions unfold. Plantations, when properly managed, can produce excellent timber for sawmill and wood laminate.
Drying: When outdoors and in greenhouses: Slow (7 days).
Workability: Easy.
Main uses: floors, panels, frames, boxes and Construction.
