Origin: Argentina / Brazil.
Scientific name: Pinus taeda.
Other Names: pinus, pinheiro-americano, pinheiro-amarelo.
Foreign Names: loblolly pine.
Density: 0.65 g / cm ³ and 12% of humidity.
Color: White-yellowish.
General Features: tree that can reach over 20 meters high, cracked bark and gray branches. Acículas met in groups of 3 (with 15 to 20 cm long), of dark green color. Male cones cylindrical and yellowish, female ovado-oblong, sessile or sub-sessile, with a very persistent and thorny scales. Seeds are small, about 5 mm long, with wings up to 25 mm. Resinous wood.
Drying: in greenhouses: Rapid (2 to 3 days).
Employee: easy to work on hand and on machines with a cushioned end. Glue and paint, well and safe.
Main uses: frames, panels, beams and furniture.
